Rixton - Me and My Broken Heart
UCLA Chorus - The Rhythm of LifeWhile listening to music, R and I either are reminded of other songs, or try to make a connection to other songs as well as what bands they seem to sound like to us.
By now most people associate Rixton's song Me and My Broken Heart (a radio hit not too long ago) with Rob Thomas' Lonely No More, mostly because it sounds just like it and because the band said they literally used that song's melody to make their song, as they are huge fans.
But for me, when I heard Rixton's song on the radio I was taken back to my choir days in jr high and high school when we would sing the song The Rythm of Life and it was easily one of our most favorite songs to sing. Rixton's melody sounds like The Rhythm of Life's melody to me, and I understand they took the inspiration from Rob Thomas, but to me it's taken from The Rhythm of life and will forever remind me of my choir days.
This goes for Rob Thomas' Lonely no more song as well, all I'll hear is The Rhythm of life!
