The Shins - Saint SimonWhile listening to music, R and I either are reminded of other songs, or try to make a connection to other songs as well as what bands they seem to sound like to us.
Ever have one of those moments where you can’t remember that one song that sounded like this other song you knew but you also can’t remember that one either and it’s been bugging you all day long! And then finally it clicks and you have that sweet relief of hearing it!?
R had this whole process yesterday and it was quite satisfying when he finally remembered what he was comparing in his mind!
Every time R hears a small part in The Shins’ song Saint Simon (2:00 minutes in, from about 2:00-2:05) the melody reminds him of the Marian song from Robin Hood Men In Tights movie, and vice versa. The part in the Marian song that seems to sound really familiar with the Saint Simon song is about 0:14 seconds in where the name Marian is being sung
I think it matches up great! And will be thinking of these two songs together from now on!
